Workplace Climate Control for a happy and productive workforce

Keeping a comfortable climate in the workplace will ensure staff are working in a suitable and productive environment. Indeed, many scientific studies have demonstrated that there is a direct correlation between temperature and humidity and productivity in the workplace.

A workspace or office that’s too warm, will lead to a stuffy environment for your staff, whom are more likely to feel sleepy or lethargic lacking focus and concentration. However, too low a temperature in the workplace, can be equally unproductive, leading to illness and a chilly and unhappy team. Studies indicate that a constant temperature of around 20 or 21 degrees, will ensure an optimum workplace environment, more likely to engender a happy and productive workforce

Factors to consider

Commercial Design & Installation

There are several important factors that need to be taken into consideration when designing and installing air conditioners in a work environment. It is essential to design a solution which takes account of the shape and layout of the workspace. Many modern commercial buildings have vastly different and contrasting spaces, from open plan collaborative offices, to smaller and more intimate break out spaces or meeting rooms. Larger auditoriums offer a unique challenge when it comes to heating and cooling and a badly designed and installed system, can lead to an audience shivering or sweating through an important conference.

System Types

Ceiling Mounted

Cassette Units

Air Conditioning Cassette Installers

Ceiling Cassettes are very effective for climate control of both heating and cooling for large or small office spaces. They provide multi-directional air flow which is effective in larger spaces avoiding cold/hot spots or draughts. Cassette units suit commercial buildings with suspended ceilings with the main part of the unit located in the ceiling cavity with multi directional vents opening out into the office space.

Wall Mounted

Air Con Units

Wall Mounted Air Con Units

Wall mounted units can be very effective in office environments particularly where ceiling cassettes can’t for whatever reason be used. They are best located unobtrusively high up on an external wall out of the eye line providing effective space cooling and heating.

Ducted

Units

Commercial Air Conditioning Duct Units

Often considered the most unobtrusive and subtle option for both heating and cooling, a ducted unit can suit all kinds of commercial properties. However, as the majority of the ducted system is hidden from view, they will only suit buildings with plenty of hidden space such as above the ceiling in plant rooms, or installed on a rooftop.
